strawberries, strawberries, everywhere!

so yes, we went to Sunny Ridge and as always, the strawberries are YUMMY!!

we went past dandenong and it brought back an air of familiarity. along the way, we also stopped at a scenic point which is still really beautiful, 2 years on.

you got served

its tricky when you get thrown curveballs by life. you know you shouldn't, you know its probably going to be a bad idea but you go ahead and ignore all the flashing warning lights that go up in your head.

but i guess we can take comfort in the fact that there is probably something planned our for us that we just have to run with, and learn from whatever life throws at you.

on a different note, i realised that i had been rather unkind to a friend not too long ago. i really shouldn't have and it was uncalled for. on hindsight, i realise that i was being pretty selfish and only considered my own feelings. but thankfully, another friend reminded me that the friend was going through a pretty rough patch hence the different behaviour and that the person really needed friends to be supportive and around. with that, i felt so bad for not trying hard enough to understand how the friend felt. thankfully, things are alright now and everyone's happy. :)

the R word

times are really bad i guess. i haven't really felt it among friends and all but today one such person has become the victim of the recession. the big R word - retrenchment. v v scary word. hope things go well for everyone else....

on the same note, the beloved morrissey is a victim of the downturn as well. all stand alone morrissey shops will be closed - EGADS! no more morrissey, how sad is that! BOOOOO!

when tragedy strikes

the bushfires happened swift and ferociously. no one expected that it would have such degree of intensity and result in such a disaster. the death toll at present stands at 181, and could go up as further reports come in. for someone with no concept of bushfires, this is seriously the worst way to learn of it. there have been bushfires in past years but never one so disastrous. also, living in the city coupled with the fact that my summers were always spent in singers, meant that it never really was an issue to me.

seeing all the footage - of people being burnt to death in their cars, families losing all their property makes one realise how very lucky they are. although it may have happened in regional Victoria, there are plenty of people with family who live there and I am thankful that no one I know is affected by it.

I hope everyone can do what they can and give generously to help those affected.

on a different note, mum and dad both called me on seperate occassions asking if i was alright. so sweet of them. wasn't expecting them to call since it did not affect the inner city but was sweet nonetheless. *warm fuzzy feeling* love them to bits.

gratitude

something that was supposed to be mentioned ages ago. i am really thankful for all the blessings i received on my bday last year. it was seriously more than i could ask for and am truly blessed to have received so many things.

on top of all the gifts i got from all my friends, i got this from my housemate.....

yes, a camera. and that silly girl didn't even share the gift with anyone! as you can imagine, i was very very touched.she really shouldn't have but it was a very sweet gesture and i appreciate it heaps.
thanks dear housemate! mwah!
