Love Mr. Postman

Guess what came in the mail yesterdayyyyyyyy?

More new shoes... Woots!

Online shopping will be the death of my wallet but, it's ok to indulge once in a while right? Hehe.

Absolutely love bonbons shoes. Such great quality and cute designs! Not to mention the fact they come in these cute pink boxes.

Really into the nude shoes thing right now (I know nude isn't that trendy right now but who cares) so both shoes were in nude.

First up is a pair of pumps named Gordana.

Love the little detail of a ribbon behind.

And this little peep toe shoe has such amazing detail at the back. So pretty!

Can't wait to wear them!

Funny thing is, I seem to have a fair few shoes but always struggle to find one that suits when going to work in the morning!

Excuse my absence

Hello world. Neglected this little online space again.

Went on a lil trip to gold coast for a break. Was a great getaway with plenty of sunshine which I so dearly missed.

Anyhoo, bought a couple of shoes lately (surprise surprise) and thought I'd show them off to the world - although I know nobody really cares. Heh

Here they are! Well, some of them at least.

Red satin pumps from I love Billy.

Red wedges from Novo

Grey wedges from Tuck

Cute heels from Wei's sister-in-law's shop

Dressy netted pink heels w diamanté detail on the heel. Can't rmb the brand of the shoe.

And one last one, also from Tuck, that isn't in the original photo.

So what do you think? Any comments on my recent purchases or my shoe fetish/ habit? Hehe

Till next time! x

8 pairs of new shoes...

On the weekend is what I call a good weekend. And just when I was dyingggg for new shoes too! - as bimbotic as that sounds. I guess being so drained at work and just getting paid had a lot to do with it but just as well.

At least now I don't feel like I'm on a new footwear drought any more. It was getting pretty boring wearing the same shoes to work. Anyhoo, am off to Sydney this Wednesday for the boat show. Not the best of timings as I've heaps of work to do but I shall quit whinging.

Pix of said shoes! (well, in boxes at least)

New haircut

Went and finally got a haircut the previous week. Been wanting to do so but haven't due to all the weekend travel for work.

So yes, pix of how it looks like for your eyes only!

This is how I looked just after I came outta the salon. For some reason, Korean salons seem to like to curl your hair when they're done.

And here's a more recent one I took at home.. Please excuse the home clothes. Hehe

So what do you think?

What I'm wearing: autumn is here

Haven't religiously taken photos of my outfits and mostly have forgotten to.. Memory is failing me.

Anw, the leaves are starting to fall a sign to the beginning of autmn or fall (no pun intended) as it is known in other places.

The weather is lovely - nice warm sun rays with a cool breeze as we move into colder days. It got cold last week but it's back up to a nice balmy 20 plus degrees. Perfect weather. Bliss.

Boozy client lunch tmr out in Bendigo. Love that I have the chance to visit the place. Should be quite lovely. Also, would be nice having lunch w the client and the wider team. Must rmb to take pix!

And finally, pix of what I wore one day to work. Can't even rmb when... Lol

Cooking adventures - mee hoon kueh

Had massive cravings for food from the homeland that I started googling for recipes on how to make certain stuff. First up was mee hoon kueh which, according to mum, is not that hard hence why the choice for the first cooking adventure.

Wei, of course, was involved in the process as well.

The dough that was made from flour, water and an egg. Had to let the dough sit for an hour before making the kueh.

Meanwhile, anchovies were being boiled for the soup base while we waited for the dough to be ready.

We then fried some anchovies to be used as garnish.

The ready dough- doesn't look too much different except he texture and size.

No pix of the process of the kueh being thrown into the soup as it was all hands on deck and no room for photography!

Kueh being cooked in the soup base. Oh apart from anchovies we put dried scallop for more taste too.

And finally, the finished product! Really satisfied w the output and very yummy!

Can't wait to make it again - slurps!

No duckin’ way

Just read an article on The Age about foodie clubs. There is a group – Duck Club – who have recommended a few places for duck after they have eaten duck all around Melbourne.

The recommendations are:

Quanjude (299 Queen Street, city, 96700091) has superb Peking duck. For tea-smoked duck, try Bamboo House (47 Little Bourke Street, city, 96621565). Aux Batifolles (400 Nicholson Street, Fitzroy North, 94815015) does an excellent duck confit

Quanjude? For Peking duck? Are you kidding me? That place is awful and so not worth the price. If I pay top dollar, I want PROPER Peking duck not some crappy half-baked version. So far, I reckon Peking duck at Sung's Kitchen on Franklin St is pretty good. Old Kingdom isn't too bad but the place is a tad shabby.

the long awaited trip back home

After close to a year of being away from home, I finally got to go back to sunny ol' Singapore for 3 weeks. It had been almost a year since I last went back, and the last time I had only four days in Singapore, so this trip was met with much anticipation and excitement.

Time spent with family and friends was pure bliss. Every moment was treasured and savoured and it felt like I had never been away! The bonds are still strong and the chatter aplenty. The only regret I have I guess is not being able to spend even more time with those lovelies.

Being back also made me realise how much I missed everything at home. It feels familiar yet new, with all the fancy skyscrapers, new malls, restaurants and clubs that have popped up. Which is annoying in a way because I keep making my way to restaurants that I recall are at a certain place but as luck would have it, are no longer there. grr!

The new malls are fancy and a bit cold I feel. Doesn't seem to have the warmth and comfort that the other malls have. Maybe it's just because I am unfamiliar with it. Oh wells.

Anyhoo, enough of the boring bits. On to what I did in singy!

Met up with the girlies for Christmas celebration with the girlies at Shiryn's crib. The theme for the party was hawaiian and there was a best/worst dressed competition! Ate, drank, played games, caught up till the wee hours of the morning. All in all, was a very good night catching up with everyone and seeing them after so long.

had lunch with the aunts and thr grandparents. saddened to hear that my grandma had not only undergone an operation several months back but also fell and broke her arm! thankfully all is good now. :)

then went shopping and about town with mummy

went mambo-ing with the girls

and then had a new year PJ party with the girlies! more happy times!
the food theme for the night was "what would you want to have for your last meal" so everyone brought different things. mine was white and black carrot cake :)

us in our PJs

fitting into the theme

I had meant to stay on but I had a friend's bachelor party that night as well so had to leave the girls early. went to Butter Factory to meet michelle and co. Don't have most of the pictures from that night yet though, so all you see is michelle and me. haha

and then darling wei came to town!! which began the whirlwind 2 wks of weifer time. :D

and then lead on to Hong Kong... which will be elaborated in another post.

Happy working days

Just finished my second day of work for the year. It's really starting to build up and I'm really afraid of going away now. There's gonna be lots more to do and I feel so bad not being around to help. Eeps
