cutler & co

went to Cutler & Co. for dinner yesterday. finally after nearly 2 months of trying to get a table there. the waitlist for the restaurant is seriously looooonnnnnng. so yes, we excitedly went to the place that had a rating of 18/20 from The Age to try it out for ourselves.

had a fantastic wine from the South France region 2005 Colombier Crozes something something..

three types of oysters -  Kumoto the small one which had a more salty taste, En Surface, the mid sized one which was a little sweet but quite neutral tasting and the awesomelicious Angassi, the huge one, which was soooo sweet and yummy

wood grilled quail w foie gras parfait

slow cooked & roast duck w boudin noir

john dory w yabby

both main courses were reaaaaallllllllyyyy good. YUM!

verdict? lived up to expectations indeed. service was EXCELLENT and food was very nice as well. ambience was fairly relaxed and notedly less formal than other fine dining restaurants. but definitely a must try!
7.5/10

Talk about being tight!

It is reported that budget carrier, Ryanair, is in talks with Boeing about adapting its aircraft so that some passengers could be placed in "vertical seating" – i.e. you stand throughout your flight. WTF?

Can you imagine how it would be like taking off and landing? Taking off is less of a problem I think. But landing??? People would seriously topple over. Maybe they would have "stand-belts". Hmm.

And get this, it has also recently suggested that heavy passengers pay a "fat tax" and travellers pay to use its on-board toilets. The "fat tax" perhaps has some argument, but toilets – hello? I'd pee outta the window or into a tin can if I could but unfortunately, I believe toilets should be a basic right to provide.

Money hungry grubbers. Pfft!

A furry protest

How funny is this...

Apparently a group of protestors from PETA have staged a protest outside the Alannah Hill store in Chapel St against the use of fur. Hmm, not sure if AH uses real fur but I doubt it…

Anyways, lucky I haven't bought anything from AH that has fur!

Farewell MJ

Omg King of Pop Michael Jackson is dead! How sad is that..

He was such an icon and I guess could have lived a much better life if he wasn't dogged by all the media and issues he had.

His legacy lives on….

RIP MJ!

tt cold winter chill

winter has well and truly descended upon melbourne. it's been averaging 10-15 degrees the past two weeks - with some night dipping till 6 degrees! its so cold that we're wearing socks at home and all the thermals and winter jackets are brought out.

so in order to prep for winter, we went coat shopping! hehehe

 coat for work and play

coat for nights out...
here it is on zee modelle...

up close...

and along the way, picked up some gorgeous tights!
got a cute light pink one from Leona Edmiston...
Hepburn tights in Pale/Blush
details..

and my fav fav fav buy, duo tone tights in grey/black

abso-freakin-lutely heart heart heart this! sooo can't wait to wear it.
was going to go for the magenta/black version before i noticed the last pair of grey/black ones left. magenta/black would have been cool too but the grey/black is obv easier to wear.

yay winter! cept for the blistering cold when u're out though. we seriously felt like weeping on fri night. was 8 degrees and the wind was howling! BRRR....
